Description

The Molina de Aragón moorlands are also known as one of the largest steppe regions in the Iberian Peninsula. This plateau, dotted with cultivated fields interspersed with fallow areas, is the ideal habitat for our best-known steppe birds: great bustards, little bustards, and Dupont’s larks.

The landscape is completed by other more common steppe birds, such as partridges and quails, sandgrouse, stone-curlews, and other steppe raptors like the Montagu’s harrier.

We will travel across the Iberian steppe in search of some of the most elusive and hard-to-see birds in the wild, following well-maintained forest tracks through one of the most sparsely populated areas of Spain. A unique experience where you can enjoy the peace and solitude of the steppe plateau.

From the meeting point, we will travel by vehicle along well-maintained country roads and forest trails, making short trips and several stops at key observation points.

Birdwatching is based on probabilities. The area we will explore has one of the best habitats for spotting different steppe bird species, so success is almost guaranteed.

You'll be surprised at how close we can observe some of these birds. In other cases, we'll use binoculars, telescopes, and other equipment. You can also bring your own equipment if you wish. In addition, our guides have extensive experience in bird watching and identification, and they always carry guides and educational materials that will help us identify which bird we're observing.

Of course! Let me know what you're interested in and we'll work it out for you.
